Please remind your student(s) not to share, food, drinks, lipstick or balm, or anything else in which saliva might be exchanged. This helps to limit exposure to seasonal conditions like the flu and colds. Washing hands frequently, especially before eating, can help your household to remain flu free. If your student(s) have upper respiratory congestion please send them with their own supply of tissues.

The Child Health and Disability Prevention program is a preventive health program serving California's children and youth. CHDP makes early health care available to children and youth with health problems as well as to those who seem well. For information about the local program, go to the Placer County Health and Human Services Department.
Network of Care for Kids is a "No Wrong Door" online information place for the individuals, families and agencies involved with children, especially the Prop. 10 target population of kids age 0-5. This site can greatly assist families in finding the best services for their children, from insurance coverage to local services. Network of Care for Kids was sponsored by Placer County Commission on Families and Children.
MEDLINEplus is a goldmine of good health information from the world's largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine. MEDLINEplus has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 600 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and a medical dictionary, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials.
Connect for Kids, an award-winning multimedia project, helps adults make their communities better places for families and children. The Web site offers a place on the Internet for adults, parents, grandparents, educators, policymakers and others who want to become more active citizens, from volunteering to voting with kids in mind.
